Courtney received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2005. Although she has worked and volunteered with children most of her life, she first developed a passion for working with children with special needs while volunteering with a therapeutic horseback riding program in Wilmington, NC. This experience inspired her to continue her education and pursue a career as an occupational therapist. Courtney recently graduated from East Carolina University with her Master's Degree of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2009. She is licensed by the NC Board of Occupational Therapy and is registered by the National Board for the Certification of Occupational Therapy.

Courtney’s clinical experience includes working with children with autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, sensory processing difficulties, ADHD, visual perceptual issues, and fine and gross motor delays. Through her clinical internships, she also had the opportunity to gain experience in several other settings including mental health, inpatient rehabilitation, and skilled nursing. Courtney has been exposed to a variety of treatment interventions including Sensory Integration, Handwriting Without Tears, The Alert Program, Therapeutic Listening and has received training in Applied Behavior Analysis since joining Let's Talk. In her spare time Courtney enjoys being outdoors, cooking, making jewelry, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog.
