Direct Instruction
Let's Talk offers tutoring and/or direct instruction for academic subjects including reading, math and language arts as well as language/communication instruction, developmental therapy, tutoring and behavioral treatment. Tutoring is either provided by a certified teacher or a trained Let's Talk tutor. Direct instruction is provided under the supervision of a master's level speech/language pathologist or a board certified behavior analyst.
ACADEMIC TUTORING: One-on-one tutoring for your child in the areas of Math, Reading, Spelling, and pre Academics. Cost varies depending on the level of the tutor as described below.
LANGUAGE TUTORING: One-on-one tutoring for your child in the area of language under the direction of an SLP. Cost varies depending on the level of the tutor as described below.
DIRECT INSTRUCTION: DI Instructors are trained in the basic concepts of ABA, AVB, teaching in the natural environment and managing challenging behaviors and work in the clinic or in the home under the direct supervision of the consultant (either BCBA or SLP). Cost varies depending on the level of the instructor as described below.
Level I - A Level I instructor has taken basic courses in ABA, VB, Natural Environment Teaching, Managing Challenging Behaviors and Self-Help Skills and passed the module 1 assessment which requires both a written test and demonstration of the use of teaching techniques with a child. Cost $20.00/hr
Level II - A Level II instructor has passed the module 2 assessment and has demonstrated both mastery and problem solving skills with at least 2 different children under the direct supervision of the consultant. Cost: $30.00/hr
Level III - A Level III instructor has passed the module 3 assessment and has demonstrated both mastery and problem solving skills with at least 3 different children under the direct supervision of the consultant. Cost: $40.00/hr
Level IV - A Level IV instructor has passed the module 4 assessment and has demonstrated mastery and beginning programming skills with feedback from the family trainer and/or consultant with at least 4 different children. This person will be able to probe new teaching strategies without approval but will make no programming changes without approval from the family trainer and/or consultant. Cost: $50.00/hr
Level V/Family Trainer - A Level V instructor has passed the module 5 assessment and demonstrated mastery of programming and problem solving skills with feedback from the consultant with at least 5 different children. This person is responsible for training the staff and the parents on implementing the plan as developed by the consultant. Minor programming changes can be made without the consultant's approval but no goals will be considered mastered or new goals will be added without input from the consultant. Cost: $60.00/hr
